And the the rains came.

A few pics from around the garden, we've been having monsoon rains which is great for plants, but not so good for time outside!

This iris was a gift from a friend, I have them scattered around my garden, they have settled in well.

The upper front bed on a rainy day, looking lush and full.

My favourite Iris 'Superstition', look forward to the blooms but the buds are also beautiful.

First Shirley Poppy of the year!

And a little string of white bleeding hearts.

Happy Gardening!

Blooming into June..

Here are a few from around my garden this week, Flaming Spring Green is a real beauty, and I'm so glad to see them coming back year after year.  I find the fancy tulips can be a bit tricky to establish.

My Snowdrop Anemones have no trouble naturalizing, in fact they might be taking over a bit.  They are so lovely that I don't mind, though the buried Hosta (Patriot) might feel otherwise.

I did not plan for this pairing to bloom at the same time, but they always do and make great companions.  Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart draped over Brunnera  Jack Frost.

The little Globeflowers are an incredible colour, and the spherical shape is fun.

I am not sure if this is actually Colorado Blue Columbine, as the pot was not well labelled, but it is a beautiful accent to a flower bed.

I'll end with a tulip today as well. Here is Verichic, terrific colour and I like the lily shape of them.

Lilacs on Parade

Greetings & Salutations.  I know I haven't blogged in ages, so if I happen to pop up in anyone's sidebar with this post I am truly grateful.

I was feeling a little ho hum after finally completing all of our beds/projects, and was in a holding patter to allow things to grow and fill in.  I purposely (with some difficulty) didn't look too closely at my beds for a few years, but am now ready to make a few changes.  Nothing drastic, some plants are just too big for their area, while others have not thrived and need to be replaced.

Here are my lilacs, which are blooming a little late this year.

My favourite, Beauty of Moscow.

Little Boy Blue, planted in memory of a friend.

Here is Mme Lemoine, finally settled in and blooming well (I have to look back, but I think I planted her about 5 years ago)

Here is our well established lilac, Pocohontas.

And the beautiful Sensation, beautiful, especially up close.

I hope everyone is well, I look forward to visiting your gardens. :)
